Coronavirus – COVID19

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING SCOUTS & CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

We are writing to share critical pieces of information relating to the developing Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. These are the current guidelines from the Scout Association.

Suspension of face-to-face activities

Given this guidance, all face-to-face Scout meetings, activities and events must be suspended from tomorrow, Tuesday, 17 March 2020. This suspension applies to young people and adults, and will be until further notice.

We continue to respond to the developing situation in a calm, measured and appropriate way. We will continue to follow official guidance. The safety of everyone involved in Scouts, both young people and adults, is our number one priority. That is always at the heart of our decision making.

Government advice

The Government’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) webpage is frequently updated as things develop, so please check it regularly at www.gov.uk/coronavirus.

If you have any questions or queries regarding sections and COVID-19 (Coronavirus) please email info@blabyscouts.org

We endeavour to respond as soon as we can, but please remember that we are all volunteers and are currently receiving a high amount of emails and calls.

We plan to mainly update this page and email all parents & members when we have any more information, and hopefully answers to your questions – please take this time to make sure your email address is up to date on Online Scout Manager.

Thanks, all at Blaby Scouts – Stay Safe

Remembrance Parade 2018

Sunday 11th November 2018

Remembrance Parade Blaby

On this day, 100 years ago, the guns fell silent. We remember those who have lost their lives in WW1 and all further conflicts.

Lest We Forget.

We achieved an incredible turn out of young people from Blaby.

19 Beavers, 20 Cubs, 17 Scouts & 9 Explorers.

All a credit once again to the group. Well Done

Summer Camp Adventures

Scouts Summer Camp!

So, this summer our Scouts where taken on an adventure in Gradbach in the Derbyshire Peak District.

Along the way they completed many activities and adventures ranging from cooking (and washing up!) to Climbing cliff faces overlooking the dales.

Below are some photos of what they got up too!

Scouts Summer Camp Days 1 & 2

Scouts are out on their Summer Camp in Gradbach!

Day 1 has consisted of Loading and unloading of trailers, some tent pitching, scenic views and even a Birthday cake!

Day 2… Starting with Rain Gutter Regatta!

First off the Scouts built their boats using plastic bottles, pipe insulation for buoyancy and some modelling clay for some extra weight.

Then, using 2 pieces of gutters they then raced them in teams, Blue, Red, Purple & Green.

Then… Crowned the Blue Team victorious winners!

More fun on Day 2…

Pioneering some ballistas’ & building a rope swing!

Oh, and some cooking of breakfast & dinner!
